At the age of 16, UK native Sarah O'Neil, joined the esteemed Berners Street company of Arthur Sanderson & Sons, where she learned her craft at England's oldest decorator supply firm.

By the time she was 25, O'Neil established and ran her own interior design business in Wimbledon, creating homes in Chelsea and Knightsbridge. Two years later, she took time off for world travel through India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bali. She took up residence in Australia, where she assisted in the Sydney start up of the venerable firm of Colefax and Fowler of Brook Street, London. The shop introduced Sydney's clientele to the world of high end decorating.

At the urging of Gilly Newberry, O'Neil took the position of Vice President at Bennison Fabrics, the establishment of famed English master decorator Geoffrey Bennison. O'Neil set up and operated the firm's first American shop and showroom on Greene Street in SoHo.

Leaving Bennison after 10 years, O'Neil and her husband moved to East Hampton to raise their two children. She continued her interior decorating career by joining the Robert Stilin firm, working on projects in the Hamptons and New York for over 10 years.

O'Neil started her own firm -- Sarah O'Neil Interiors -- where she currently works out of her East Hampton office for clients both on Long Island and in Manhattan.
